PrEx About us, FOR YOU Worldwide PrEx

The first www.Practical-Experience.com ( PrEx ) website was created for the exclusive use by some small businesses in England, to find a few placement students from other countries. It soon attracted many more candidates, than could be hosted by those few small businesses.

The facility has now been reconfigured and successfully tested as a global, multiple user service with a philanthropic slant:
It is free for all who want, or need to find practical work experience, often as pre–conditions for finding permanent jobs.

The activities of www.practical-experience.com ( PrEx ) are centred in London, England, as an Internet based operation. With local contact points in a growing number of countries it develops an interactive exchange / platform for employers to find students / graduates and other seekers of practical experience placements with clearly defined qualifications and career objectives. It also helps educational establishments, like colleges, polytechs and universities to find potential host-employers for their students / graduates during holidays or sabbaticals / gap years.

www.practical-experience.com ( PrEx ) is now open for use by any organization, community, institution or just individual employer worldwide, who could benefit from hosting / employing practical work experience placement seekers, i.e. typically, but not exclusively, students / graduates.

Potential Host-Employers register free to create their user name and password. From then they post as many different Practical Work Experience Placement Vacancies as they wish online, any time (24h) they wish, as
Returning Users .

The employers’ vacancy profiles are then continuously exposed to the matching fusion in PrEx‘s proprietary, dedicated, secure, and continuously updating database of Applicants worldwide.

Whenever matches occur, the potential Host-Employer is alerted and provided with the links to the matching applicants’ profiles. The Employer with his / her user name and password can then access such matching applicants’ profiles with one click. This instant, objective screening / filtering automation enables employers to view fresh applications actually matching their specified vacancy profiles within the shortest possible delay from such applications being posted from anywhere on PrEx .

An employer can then either contact the candidate(s) directly or request them to contact the employer. A personal phone conversation can thus be started immediately and while both sides have the Applicant’s Profile on their screens.

This pre-selection and the identical PrEx formats in which all such matching applications can be viewed, saves the employer substantial time, otherwise wasted on ploughing through applications received in diverse, non comparable configurations, often containing standard text pieces, irrelevant to the employer’s vacancy profiles.

An option to have the PrEx standard applicant’s profile format customised for particular, large scale employer requirements could enable employers to import applicant profiles directly into their own database, e.g. to be viewed in direct comparison with other profiles or by H.R. departments in different locations.

Result for the Employer:
The (“RoI”) number of useful applications received from time invested to find them, increases dramatically.

And even that ratio can be controlled by the employer: By selecting, how many and which of the employer’s matching criteria are actually applied to the matching, the employer can determine at any time to either see more applicants’ profiles but matching less closely, or to see less applications, but more closely matching all of the employer’s criteria.

No time is wasted on general or unclear enquiries, because only fundamentally suitable candidates are introduced only to fundamentally suitable placement opportunities. Both sides are then free to come to an agreement or not.

PrEx does not make recommendations or conduct interviews and neither charges time-, nor commitment-,
nor success-fees. Towards the end of a firmly agreed typically 120 days free trial period, PrEx will suggest a very competitive roughly commensurate with the expected amount of use of the facility. Any such subscription can thereafter terminated with 60 days notice and excluding any further obligations for either side.

Free Trial Offer:
Employers posting their first Practical Experience vacancy profile by July 31, 2008 are offered the free use of www.Practical-Experience.com for up to 25 vacancy profiles for a trial period of 6 months from their registration. They will also be offered a substantial “Early Bird” discount for subsequent use of the service.

There is no obligation attached to this free trial offer, to continue the subscription thereafter or to expressly cancel it. If not expressly extended by the employer, the use of the service will simply cease and the employer owes nothing.

3.1 Higher Educational Establishments (HEE), helping their Students to Practical Experience Placements

Most Educational Establishments want to help their students to find Practical Work Experience opportunities as an important step towards full time, permanent careers.  Most More and more HEE's are interested in, or obliged to find Practical-Experience placement opportunities
One new and easy way is, to continuously encourage the students / graduates via the HEE’s newsletters and websites to post their Applications for Practical Work Experience Opportunities world wide directly and at no cost

on www.practical-experience.com ( PrEx )

PrEx is now expanding and intensifying its relationships with many higher or specialist HEE worldwide, including most leading universities, polytechnics and a wide range of colleges.

These HEE are offered the www.practical-experience.com search facilities free for their students to find placements.

In return www.practical-experience.com hopes to receive copious feedback and suggestions for improvements.

Guidance and active collaboration will be particularly appreciated for the definition of disciplines in addition to the presently covered business and IT fields.

3.2 HEE potentially interested in attracting more Students across national frontiers, who are seeking part of their studies in different countries.

The requirements for cross border study experiences are rapidly increasing as a consequence of accelerating globalisation and the growing appreciation by employers of "Multicultural Experience" in potential employees.

This is increasingly relevant in business, where managers of one nationality are often required to take on responsibilities in other countries either to fill a sudden vacancy or as trouble shooters or as a deliberate strategy to train potential top level executives in global outlook management.

www.practical-experience.com will therefore in future be enabled also as a search facility for academic study places.
Aspiring students, or those wanting to move temporarily or permanently to another HEE, – for example, in another country – will be able to find study opportunities around the world. These will be classified in searchable formats to help find suitable international study opportunities and information as to whether these are recognised in the curricula of the countries, where a student plans to take his / her final exams and degrees. Links will be set up to the sources of information on these matters in different countries.

More and more HEE are also interested in attracting new students, as can be seen from costly media advertising and other campaigns and events. Some of this will be replaced more cost effectively by searchable information displayed by HEE on www.Practical-Experience.com . Prospective students could then find exactly what they are looking at one stop.

Of the estimated 100,000,000 students worldwide only 2.5% presently cross national frontiers for all or part of their studies. Many potential candidates miss such possibly life-changing opportunities to study abroad, sometimes due to higher costs, but also because such opportunities - and possible financial support - can be complicated to find.

www.practical-experience.com is planning to make this more easily searchable at one stop and advice and assistance for this from all countries is very welcome .
